1. Who We Are
REITF.com ("we," "us," or "our") is a veteran-focused real estate wealth-building platform operated by Black Box Ventures LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website, applications, and services — including services that integrate with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Lighthouse API platform.
2. We Do Not Store Your Data
REITF.com does not collect, store, retain, or maintain any personal data, VA-sourced data, or user records on our servers. This is a core design principle of our platform.
-
We do not operate a user database.
-
We do not retain VA data retrieved through Lighthouse API calls. All VA data flows transiently through our platform and is not written to persistent storage.
-
We do not store your VA login credentials. You authenticate directly with VA.gov through VA's own secure identity verification systems.
-
We do not store financial records, health records, or personally identifiable information (PII).
Because we hold no data, we have no data to sell, share, mine, or monetize. Period.
3. Information That Passes Through Our Platform
When you use features that connect to VA Lighthouse APIs, the following information may pass through our platform transiently during your active session:
-
Veteran verification and eligibility status
-
Benefits claims status
-
Disability rating information
-
Service history confirmation
This data is retrieved in real time at your request, displayed to you, and discarded when your session ends. It is not cached, logged, archived, or transmitted to any third party.
4. Information You Provide Voluntarily
If you contact us directly (via email, phone, or web form), we may receive information you choose to share — such as your name, email address, or a description of your inquiry. This information is used solely to respond to your communication and is not added to any database or marketing system.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use only essential cookies required for basic platform functionality (session management, security). We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party tracking pixels. We do not track your activity across other websites.
6. How We Use Information
The only information processing we perform is:
-
Passing your authorized VA data requests through to the VA Lighthouse API and returning the results to you in real time
-
Responding to direct communications you initiate with us
-
Maintaining basic platform security and functionality
We do not use any information for marketing, advertising, profiling, data mining, or any purpose beyond the specific service you have requested.
7. Sharing of Information
We do not share, sell, rent, trade, or disclose your information to any third party. The only data movement that occurs is the transient API call between your authorized session, our platform, and the VA Lighthouse API — and that data is governed by the VA's own terms and the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a).
If compelled by law, regulation, subpoena, or court order, we will comply with lawful requests — but because we do not store data, our ability to produce records is inherently limited to what exists at the time of the request.
8. Data Security
All data in transit between your device, our platform, and VA systems is encrypted using TLS/SSL. API authentication follows OAuth 2.0 protocols as required by the VA Lighthouse platform. Because we do not store data at rest, the primary security risk vector — stored data breach — does not apply.
9. Your Rights
-
Revoke VA access at any time through your VA.gov account settings or by contacting us.
-
Request information about what data, if any, we hold. Because we do not maintain data stores, the answer will be: none.
-
Contact us with any privacy concern at the address below.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly interact with minors.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
